Here is the season of love upon us again. Although we haven’t quite hit the "last minute" stage at the time I am writing this article, hopefully the advice will be relevant now and up to the moment of urgency. You are looking at this article because you need help. This is a holiday where you are supposed to give a gift that you have carefully thought about that your man would really like, and you are searching for ideas. Don’t worry. I have been assured by various men (including my husband) that they do not take this holiday nearly as seriously as women do.
In fact, while women seem to almost expect flowers, candy, or jewelry, I’ve heard that men would rather have a more personal touch. Many guys love to get packs of snack size chocolates. They can keep them at their desk at work. Another great idea is to give cookies. If they are homemade, even better. This shows you put some effort into making him something special. It also makes the guy feel important at work if he has cookies or snacks. It is a way to show off how much his partner cares about him.

If you are really feeling ambitious or generous, it wouldn’t take a lot more time to put together a gift basket of sorts. Romance gift baskets can include homemade cookies, candies, and even a coupon book that you put together. The book can contain coupons for a romantic homemade dinner, permission for nights out with the guys, sensual massage, or other romantic rewards throughout the year. Be sure to include offers of yourself–your time, your involvement, and interest–in the things he loves.
Some guys are more willing to go along with more "juvenile" celebrations of the holiday. Consider giving him a hand made Valentine, full of doilies, red construction paper, and heart shapes. Write a cheesy poem. Send him subtle but suggestive text messages throughout the day, inviting him to your personal party later on. Play a game of strip poker, letting him win. How about a scavenger hunt that leads to you?
I’m sure you get the idea by now. Money spent and material symbols of your affection are not nearly as important to a guy as for a girl. The best gifts do not have to cost a lot of money. A romantic gift for him is one uniquely designed to stroke his ego. Make him feel special, feed his love for food and affection and touch. So, even if you do wait to the last minute, you don’t have to worry. Your love will be shown when you have fun and think of what your man really wants and needs. That is you.
